Why your life is a miserable wreck
Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah, who said that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "When a man enters his house and remembers Allaah [i.e., says Bismillaah] when he enters and when he eats, the Shaytaan says, 'You have no place to stay and no dinner.' If he enters and does not remember Allaah when entering, the Shaytaan says, 'You have found a place to stay.' If he does not remember Allaah when he eats, [the Shaytaan] says, 'You have found a place to stay and dinner.'"
[Narrated by Muslim, 2018]
We do all the wrong things, and then we complain that our lives are miserable.
If you enter your house and mention the name of Allaah, the devil does not get to stay in your house.
Now, be honest. Do you really do that?
No, you don't.
When you don't do it, the devil gets to stay in your home. Now, ask yourself this:
Is the devil your friend or your enemy? Does he want you to succeed or fail?
Maybe your memory needs a jolt. Let me remind you. Actually, forget me. Let the Qur'aan remind you
"...and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy."
[Qur'aan 2:208]
[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all
Except, among them, Your chosen servants."
[Qur'aan 15:39-40]
There you have it. You let the devil live in your home because you do not mention the Name of Allaah when you enter it.
What is worse than to let your enemy, who wants your utter destruction, live with you?
You invite your worst enemy into your home.
Then, you complain why your life is a miserable wreck?
