Use kind words when you address your Muslim brother
And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan induces [dissension] among them. Indeed Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy.
Qur'ān 17:53
Ibn Kathīr writes:
Allāh ordered His Messenger sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam to order the believing slaves of Allāh to use nice and good words when they address one another because if they do not do so, the devil will induce dissension between them and words will lead to actions. Evil, disputes, and fighting will occur among them.
Without a doubt, the devil is an enemy to Adam and his children since the time he refused to prostrate to Adam and his hostility is clearly apparent. This is why a person has been forbidden to point a weapon at his Muslim brother because the devil can induce him to use the weapon against his brother.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "None of you should point out towards his Muslim brother with a weapon, for he does not know, Satan may tempt him to hit him and thus he would fall into a pit of fire (Hell)"
