The world is a deception

Allaah says:  

Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).

[Qur'aan 3:185]  

Al-Mustaurad bin Shaddad (May allah be pleased with him) reported:The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "This world (i.e., its pleasures and duration) in comparison with the Hereafter is (similar to the amount of water) one gets when he puts his finger in the sea. Let him then see what it returns with".
