Muslims are brothers

Tafsiir Ibn Kathiir has fabricated hadiith in it. One is the following:

المسلمون إخوة ، لا فضل لأحد على أحد إلا بالتقوى

al-Muslimuun are brothers. No one is superior to anyone else except by means of al-Taqwaa.

Now while one may argue that the subject matter of that is sound, one needs to know that the chain is not. When you have authentic hadiith for a given matter narrate those as opposed to fabricated ones. Stop worshiping scholars. Worship Allaah and follow His Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam).

The sayings and actions of scholars are not a hujjah. They were fallible men who made mistakes. The Qur'aan and the Sunnah are hujjah. And when certain conditions are met the sayings of the Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) are hujjah.

Shiekh al-'albaani graded the above hadiith fabricated.

al-Haythami said its chain contains عبد الحميد بن عمرو بن جبلة who is abandoned.
