Memorizing the Qur'aan

Most of the Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) had not memorized the recitation of the Qur'aan.

They had memorized what the Qur'aan ordered them to do, and they acted upon it.

Thus, a person who has not memorized the Qur'aan but acts upon it is better than the one who has memorized the Qur'aan but does not act upon it.
