Hope and fear

[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful.

And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.

[Qur'aan 15:49-50]

These two Verses are evidence for the stations of hope and fear. A slave is hopeful of Allaah's Mercy but fearful of Allaah's Punishment. One is never to despair from the Mercy of Allaah, but is also never to consider himself safe from the makr of Allaah.

Did they then feel secure against the makr of Allah. None feels secure from the makr of Allah except the people who are the losers.
