Have your sins forgiven
Have your sins forgiven
Imām al-Tirmidhi narrated from Abd Allāh bin 'Amr (may Allāh be pleased with both of them) that the Messenger of Allāh sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
There is no one on the earth who says
لا إله إلا الله
والله أكبر
ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
(Lā ilāha illallāh wallāhu 'akbar wa lā hawla wa lā quwwata 'illā billāh)
Except that his sins will be forgiven even if they were like the foam of the ocean.
al-Tirmidhi said the Hadīth is hasan gharīb
Sheikh al-'albāni graded the Hadīth hasan (authentic).
Imām Ahmad and Imām al-Hākim narrated the Hadīth from Abd Allāh bin 'amr with the addition of
سبحان الله
والحمد الله،
And in the narration narrated by Imām al-Hākim has the addition of
سبحان الله كثيرا
Imām al-Hākim has narrated both the narrations as:
There is no person on the earth who says
لا إله إلا الله
والله أكبر
وسبحان الله
والحمد لله
ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
(Lā ilāha illallāh wallāhu 'akbar wa Subhān Allāhi wal hamdulillāh wa lā hawla wa lā quwwata 'illā billāh)
Except that his sins will be forgiven even if the are more than the foam of the ocean.
And in another narration narrated by Imām al-Hākim:
He who says
لا إله إلا الله
والله أكبر
والحمد لله
وسبحان الله كثيرا
ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
(Lā ilāha illallāh wallāhu 'akbar wa Subhān Allāhi kathīrā wal hamdulillāh wa lā hawla wa lā quwwata 'illā billāh)
his sins will be forgiven even if the are as many as the foam of the ocean.
al-Hākim graded the Hadīth Sahīh.
