Follow the Messenger of Allaah

Abu Ma'mar said, "A man began to praise one of the amisrs. Al-Miqdad began to throw dirt in his face and said, 'The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) commanded us to throw dust into the faces of those who praise people.'"

[al-Adab al-Mufrad Hadith No. 339]

He threw dust in his face. He followed what the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said to the letter. He did not give an interpretation to the blessed words of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam). He followed it to the letter. He picked up dirt and threw it in the face of the man because the man praised one of the amiirs.

These were the Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) who are the best of creation after the Prophets (peace be upon them all). They followed what the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said exactly to the letter.

The put aside their opinions. This is Taqwa. This is the key to Paradise. This is the key to being near to Allaah.
